Ken Merola, P.E., CPMP, LEED AP
Mr. Merola has over 34 years of experience in commissioning, MEP multi-disciplinary design, construction administration, fire protection, mechanical contracting, and telecommunication systems for educational, government, military, commercial, retail, religious, hotel, multi-family and healthcare facilities. His experience includes a variety of building evaluations, energy audits, engineering studies, CPM project scheduling, commissioning, and code review. Ken also has experience in several different energy saving system designs for educational facilities, including off-peak ice storage air conditioning, ground coupled water-source heat pumps, heat recovery, and day-lighting controls.
Brian Burgess, PE, CxT
Mr. Burgess offers our clientele over eight years of both design and commissioning experience. Through his skill set developed from integrated system design experience, numerous building energy audits, facility condition assessments, existing building retro-commissioning processes, and functionally testing new building energy systems, Brian consistently provides an excellent HVAC system design product integrated with a project’s architectural elements and well-coordinated with other disciplines. He is currently the lead designer managing multiple renovation design projects, featuring thermal ice storage and variable flow refrigerant systems.
Luke Biggs, P.E.
Mr. Biggs has over ten years of experience in mechanical engineering design. His experience includes the HVAC systems design for K-12, higher education, institutional, and commercial projects. Luke’s experience includes the design of chilled and heating water systems, variable air volume distribution systems, displacement ventilation, and VRF systems. He is also experienced in the design of LEED and CHPS certified school projects.
Steven R. Peake, P.E.
Mr. Peake has extensive experience in analyzing and designing electrical systems for buildings and facilities in the primary and secondary education, medical, municipal, federal government, military, and industrial sectors. He has participated in the planning, design, bidding, permitting and construction phases of a wide range of project types including new construction in the governmental, educational, and industrial sectors, but has primarily focused on renovations and upgrades to existing facilities and power distribution systems throughout his career. Steve has over 25 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Department Manager for engineering consulting firms, with over 20 years in Colorado for local MEP design firms, and at Peterson AFB as an Electrical Engineer and Project Manager. He is also Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer.
Mechanical Engineering Technician
Mr. Styer has over 18 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician and is responsible for design and layout of HVAC and Hydronic type Mechanical Systems. He has extensive experience using AutoCAD as well as several AutoCAD extension packages and is in charge of our AutoCAD drafting standards for projects currently under design. He is also experienced using Microsoft Office for word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Electrical Engineering Technician
Mrs. Slavnic has over 16 years of experience drafting and design of electrical and telecommunication systems for commercial, institutional, industrial and governmental projects. Her skill set includes expertise in E4Clicks software, Auto-CAD software and Revit software. Mrs. Slavnic’s standard list of duties include design, cost estimating, site inspections, system modeling and drafting. Monica oversees the electrical Auto-CAD drafting standards for projects currently under design. Monica also provides quality control and administrative support for the office.
Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Technician
Mr. Harvey has over 18 years of experience as an Electrical and Mechanical Technician, and is responsible for design and layout of power and lighting systems. His design experience includes lighting, power distribution, telecommunication, fire alarm, plumbing, and commissioning of multi-disciplinary building systems. Tim manages our Revit BIM (Building Information Model), and is adept with EDR (Electrical Designers’ Reference) and AGI Lighting design software programs.
Engineer In Training
Mr. Oates has over 15 years of engineering and construction experience. His background in program/project management, engineering, scheduling and estimating, as well as his MBA in Business and service in the US Navy makes him a great addition to our team.
