Junior Electrical Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Schendt Engineering Corporation is seeking a junior Electrical Engineer to perform duties including power, lighting, and fire alarm design, equipment selection, plan layout, conducting investigative field surveys of existing electrical systems, specification writing, cost estimating, coordination with other consultants, and contract administration services. This position involves working on several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Some local and state travel will be required to perform field investigations and verify contractor’s installation meet the design and Owner project requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS 

• • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on Electrical Lighting and Power Distribution Design.
  • EIT mandatory; PE license preferred.
  • United States Citizenship is required to obtain a valid DOD Identification Card in order work at US military and federal facilities.
  • Background checks shall also be conducted to access state correctional facilities.
  • Design experience in building electrical, lighting, communications, and fire alarm systems.
  • A working knowledge of the NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 72, and other industry related standards.
  • Strong personal work ethic and ambition to be a team player and provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to develop approaches to projects independently and perform detailed execution of electrical design.
  • Communicates well verbally, in writing, and graphically, with other engineers, clients, and code authorities.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Easy Power, SKM, MS Office Suite, and other design related software.

Salary Range

Range: $85,000 – $125,000 (Salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, education, and abilities)
