Project Overview
SEC provided full MEP engineering for the construction of the Falcon's Nest, a new VIP spectator area located between Clune Arena and the Hockey Arena inside the Cadet Field House at the US Air Force Academy. The anticipated construction cost is $18,000,000.
Facility Features
The Falcon's Nest replaces the existing press box with an elevated open viewing area. It includes a dual-function kitchen serving both event catering and athlete support, a food serving line and bar, men's and women's restrooms, a video/scoreboard control room, and storage rooms. Access is provided by two free-standing stairs and an elevator.
MEP Systems
Complete new HVAC, power, lighting, and communications services were designed. Lighting features include recessed LED down lights with decorator glass trim rings, pendant-mounted decorative sconces at the bar, and color-changing LEDs at the bar surface. Fire protection includes a wet pipe system with new fire alarm and mass notification appliances.
