Replacement of hail-damaged rooftop mechanical equipment including approximately 132 fans with direct drive EC motors, 16 rain caps, condensing units, and roof ventilators.
SEC provided engineering design for the replacement of hail-damaged rooftop mechanical equipment at Limon Correctional Facility. The project specifies approximately 132 fans, 16 rain caps, pipe insulation, condensing units, roof ventilators, and control devices. The opinion of probable cost is $1,444,000.
New fans were designed with direct drive EC motors to reduce energy consumption and maintenance requirements compared to the damaged belt-driven units. SEC measured all existing roof curbs to avoid the need for curb adapters, ensuring clean installations. Coordination was maintained with the Project Manager, Risk Management, and Unified Building Systems throughout design.
SEC provided complete electrical drawings and schedules with a design intent to utilize the same motor sizes and reuse existing branch feeders wherever possible, minimizing electrical infrastructure modifications and reducing overall project cost.
